Delicious with seafood or chicken, our flavorful Lemon Garlic Orzo is easy to prepare and goes wonderfully with fresh rosemary. Try it with shrimp sautéed with garlic and olive oil for a complete dish.

Ingredients:

Makes 2 servings

  • 1 Tablespoon Unsalted Butter

  • 3/4 Cup Lemon Garlic Orzo, uncooked

  • 1/2 Teaspoon Fresh Rosemary Leaves, chopped

  • 1/2 Cup Chicken Broth

  • 3/4 Cup Water

  • 2 Teaspoons Lemon Juice, freshly squeezed

  • 1/4 Kosher Sea Salt Flakes

Directions:

  1. Melt butter in 1-quart heavy saucepan over medium heat, and add orzo. Cook, stirring, until pasta is lightly browned.

  2. Add remaining ingredients to pan and bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes. Once liquid is absorbed, remove from heat and let stand 5 minutes before serving.

Use hot or cold in place of rice in risottos, soups, or salads

Cook with stock and herbs to add flavor and serve as a complementary side dish to any meal 

Add 1 cup of orzo to a large pot of boiling water with 1 teaspoon of salt and 1 teaspoon of neutral cooking oil. Cook for 10-12 minutes until al dente and strain. Rinse with cold water to cool for salads or use immediately in hot preparations.
