A Yak is a long-haired domesticated bovid (cattle) that is native to the Himalayan region of Asia. Our Yaks are farm raised north of the board in Canada. They are fed a diet mostly of grasses which influences the taste significantly. Yak meat can have hints of herbs, grass, and even floral notes. Some describe the taste as more "beefy" or "slightly gamey" compared to grain-fed beef. Additionally, grass-fed yak is often noted for having a cleaner, more natural taste due to the absence of grains or other supplementary feeds.

Our Yak Whole Tenderloins have a firmer texture compared to grain-fed beef however, when cooked properly to a medium rare or medium, it offers a delightful eating experience that satisfies both the palate and the senses.
