This easy-to-prepare recipe combines your choice of several options of savory ground meat, our signature Lone Star Chili Seasoning, and classic ingredients for a delicious, crowd-pleasing meal. Perfect for weeknights, game days, or any time you crave authentic chili.

Ingredients

    • 2 lbs. Ground Meat (Your choice)

    • 1 Jar (2 oz) Lone Star Chili Seasoning

    • 2 Tablespoons Cooking Oil (Vegetable or Avocado)

    • 1 Large Onion, Minced

    • 2 cans (16 oz. each) Dark Red Kidney Beans

    • 1 can (15 oz.) Tomatoes (Diced)

    • ½ can water (use one of the empty cans of beans)

    • Salt & Pepper, to taste

    • Sour Cream

    • Chopped Green Onions

    Directions

    1. Brown the Meat: Heat a large pot over medium-high heat. Add the ground meat and cook until browned and no longer pink, stirring often. Remove the meat, drain excess fat, and set aside.

    2. Cook the Onions:In the same pot, add cooking oil and onions. Sauté over medium heat until translucent (about 4–5 minutes).

    3. Combine Meat and Seasoning: Return the browned meat to the pot. Add the entire jar of Lone Star Chili Seasoning and stir until evenly incorporated. Cook for an additional 3 minutes to blend flavors.

    4. Add Remaining Ingredients: Add the diced tomatoes, kidney beans (if using) and the water to the pot. Stir well, cover, and reduce heat to medium-low. Simmer for 25–30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

    5. Serve and Garnish: Ladle the chili into bowls and top with shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, and chopped green onions.
