Perfect for weeknights, game days, or any time you crave authentic chili.
2 lbs. Ground Meat (Your choice)
1 Jar (2 oz) Lone Star Chili Seasoning
2 Tablespoons Cooking Oil (Vegetable or Avocado)
1 Large Onion, Minced
2 cans (16 oz. each) Dark Red Kidney Beans
1 can (15 oz.) Tomatoes (Diced)
½ can water (use one of the empty cans of beans)
Salt & Pepper, to taste
Shredded Cheddar Cheese
Sour Cream
Chopped Green Onions
Brown the Meat: Heat a large pot over medium-high heat. Add the ground meat and cook until browned and no longer pink, stirring often. Remove the meat, drain excess fat, and set aside.
Cook the Onions:In the same pot, add cooking oil and onions. Sauté over medium heat until translucent (about 4–5 minutes).
Combine Meat and Seasoning: Return the browned meat to the pot. Add the entire jar of Lone Star Chili Seasoning and stir until evenly incorporated. Cook for an additional 3 minutes to blend flavors.
Add Remaining Ingredients: Add the diced tomatoes, kidney beans (if using) and the water to the pot. Stir well, cover, and reduce heat to medium-low. Simmer for 25–30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Serve and Garnish: Ladle the chili into bowls and top with shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, and chopped green onions.
Enjoy your hearty, Texas-style Lone Star Chili!
